New England Basset Hound Rescue is holding our EIGHTH annual “Basset
Waddle” to raise money for the homeless, abused, and unwanted Bassets
of New England. All Bassets, non-Bassets, and food slaves are welcome!
A Basset Waddle gives us the opportunity to raise funds through a
“parade” of hounds, proud owners, and dogs in need of homes.
Basset Waddles are the way we bring rescue efforts to the
public awareness. It is our largest fund raising event. Money is raised
by the hounds' owners by getting sponsors (“pledges”) to support their
hound in the parade route. The money raised will help us to pay for
veterinary care, food, boarding, and all other expenses related to the
labors of rescuing hounds.
Get pledges! Ask your friends, family, co-workers, boss, vet, mailman, teacher – anybody! There will be prizes for the top pledge earners. The pledges are your “entry” into the waddle. If you are unable to bring pledges, a $30.00 donation will be requested at registration. And, because we’re a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, your donation - or those pledges you collect - is tax deductible!

In addition to the Waddle, Woofstock will be a fun-filled event. We’re going to have games, contests, agility displays, vendors, raffles and a silent auction, to raise money for the hounds. We also will have a special area for kids' fun, with games & prizes.
Grooviest Gal and Hippest Hound Contest
This year we’re again offering a chance for your hound or houndette to
be crowned Grooviest Gal or Hippest Hound of the Waddle! We’re going to
have a contest so you can tell us why your hound or houndette is
deserving of this honor!
All Basset Hounds are regal. Each one has that unique “I am the ruler
of my universe” aura. But is YOUR hound truly the monarch? Does he rule
your home? Is she the queen who deserves to be pampered an waited on,
and loved and admired? Tell us, in 300 words or less, why your hound
should be this year’s Grooviest Gal or Hippest Hound. All entries will
be reviewed by the Hip Royalty Committee. We will select the two
winning entries and announce them at Woofstock. The winners must be in
attendance to accept this honor and their special prizes!
