Hi there! My name is Rufus, and I am a 1-year-old tri-color male looking for my forever home!
My face looks bassety, but my legs — oh, my legs go on for miles, so we think I’m probably part coonhound. But there is no “probably” about the fact that I am just plain adorable!
My foster mom says that I am WONDERFUL, and I am going to make the right family very happy!
I am still a big puppy, and I love to run, and play, and I love to roughhouse with other dogs. I love to play with other dogs, but I can get possessive of objects and also of people, and can get grumpy towards other dogs, sometimes holding a grudge. So I may do better in a home with no other dogs, but where I may have opportunities to go play with other dogs. Because I love to run and exercise my long legs, I absolutely need a home with a fenced-in yard (No invisible fences!).
My other interests include chewing on bones, taking naps in the sun, going for rides in the car and going for walks (although I do pull on the leash and will need some work on leash skills).
My foster family doesn’t have cats, but they think I would likely chase cats and try to get them to play with me.
I enjoy children, but my play can be a bit rough, so I should not go to a home with small children.
Are you a family looking for a super sweet, happy and fun hound pup? Are you willing to be patient with me and maybe take me to some basic training classes to help me work on my manners? If this sounds like you, please submit a completed adoption application and mention me — Rufus!
