Well hi there! I’m Myrtle, and I am an absolutely fabulous 8 or 9 yr old red and white female basset hound who found myself in rescue after my previous owner passed away.
My foster mom describes me as a low key girl who is a sweetheart. I love doing normal bassety things — you know, like having my belly rubbed and taking naps on a couch. I also have a playful side, and I enjoy playing with stuffed toys, playing tuggies, and fetching my toys. I also love being outside, whether it’s to go for walks or just to sniff around the back yard. I’ve also been known to enjoy chasing a tennis ball around. All of this is good, because I need to lose a bit of weight. I’ve been making great progress in this area with my foster family, and will need to have a forever family who will continue helping me to lose another 10 or so pounds so I can be a healthy weight for my frame.
I get along with everyone — adults, children, other dogs…even cats! And I am described as unshakeable because I seem to adjust well to change. Nothing seems to bother me.
Do you think I might be a good fit to join your family forever? If so, please fill out an adoption application and mention me — Myrtle!
