Hi there! I’m Frankie! I am a 3 year old beagle boy looking for my forever home.
I first came to NEBHR as part of what everyone thought was a bonded pair. However, it soon became apparent that we were really not all that bonded and would, in fact, probably do better apart.
I am an adorable, happy-go-lucky guy who loves everyone and loves to get attention. I have lots of energy, and I love going for long, fast walks and running around in a fenced-in yard. I will need to go to a home that has a fenced-in yard (solid fence, not an invisible one!). The family who adopts me needs to be able to spend a lot of time with me and help me expend my energy and just give me lots of love. It would be best for me to not be in a home with cats, as I would likely go crazy wanting to chase them. I like to play with other dogs, but I do display some resource guarding so may do better as an only dog in a home. For that reason as well, there should be no small children in the home. Older kids would be okay.
I thrive on routine, and since I have quite a bit of anxiety, having a set routine and knowing what to expect are really important. Since my foster family has started working with me, I have started to improve a bit, but it will be important for my forever family to be patient and help me in the same way so I can continue to make progress. It would be best for me to be in a home where there is someone home most of the time.
I love retrieving sticks and then walking around with them. I seem to have had some training in my past, and I will sit, give my paw and come (sometimes) on command.
If you think you might be the right match for me, please submit an adoption application and mention my name — Frankie. If you’ve already applied to become an adopter and think I might be the match for you, please email Wendy at adoptions@newenglandbassethoundrescue.org.
