Well hellooooo there! My name is Bruno, and I am a bloodhound who found my way into the basset hound rescue and am now looking for my forever family!
I’m approximately 1.5 years old and was found as a stray. I was an emaciated mess when I was found, but my foster home helped me gain weight and get healthy, and I am now a healthy and happy bundle of love and energy. I’m mostly red with a black mask.
I truly believe that I was put here on this Earth to be friends with absolutely everyone, whether they want to be my friend or not! My foster mom says I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body, but since I can get over-enthusiastic in trying to make friends, I tend to be a pest to cats and would probably do best in a home that does not have cats. I can be a bit much for dogs that are on the shy side or on the crabby and aggressive side. I would, though, love to be in a home with another active and playful dog who I can be pals with!
I love to play, and when there’s no other dog or a human around for me to play with, I’ll grab a toy and toss it around for myself. I am very high-energy, and I really need a home with an active family that can handle my energy level and that can make sure that I have a “hobby,” otherwise I can turn to chewing things I ought not chew.
I love children, but I need to be in a home with no small children, as I may trample them (although I would do it lovingly).
My ideal home would have a fenced-in yard. I cannot be loose on my own unleashed, as I am a flight risk, although I do respect a fence.
Do you think you might be the family for me? Can you see yourself with an 80-lb cuddle buddy, playmate and best friend? Please submit a completed adoption application and mention me — Bruno!
