Hi, I’m Blossom, an 8-ish yr old tan and white female basset mix who is looking for my forever home!
I am a sweet and loving girl. I am pretty energetic, and I love to play with my stuffed toys. It seems my tail is always wagging, and I absolutely love attention from my people!
I do pretty well with other dogs for the most part, but I can get a bit upset with others and pushy if food or treats are involved. My forever family should be savvy about handling resource issues, particularly if there are other dogs in the home. Any other dogs in the home should probably be close to my size rather than smaller. I am about 56 lbs, although the vet says I should be closer to 45.
As I said earlier, I’m pretty energetic and playful, but I do have some arthritis in a front leg that flares up from time to time. I am on medication for that, and it helps a lot. So my forever family should live in a one-level home where I won’t have to do stairs, and they will also need to be able to keep me on my medication, which generally runs about $87 a month and requires me to have periodic blood testing.
I am fine with children, but because I don’t seem to realize my own size, it would be best if my forever home doesn’t have small children — I might accidentally knock them over! Older children would be okay.
Do you think that you might be the right forever family for me? Can you see yourself loving me always? If so, please submit an adoption application and mention me — Blossom! If you’re already approved to adopt from NEBHR, please send an email to adoptions@newenglandbassethoundrescue.org.
