Normally Bassetpalooza is a fun-filled day to help raise money for us to continue in our efforts to provide homeless bassets with medical care and other needs they may have in order to prepare them for finding their forever homes. It’s a day for all bassets, their human servants, and anyone looking to learn more about the breed or considering adopting a basset to come together to have some laughs, play some games, take part in the awesome raffles, and of course — love on some bassets!!
Sadly, due to COVID-19, we are unable to gather together in person this year. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun and raise money for the bassets!
BREAKING NEWS! Thanks to a generous and anonymous donor, all donations towards our virtual Bassetpalooza event activities will be matched up to $7500! This means your donation will be doubled!
Have your name printed on the back of this year’s once in a lifetime (we hope) quarantine edition of the annual Bassetpalooza event t-shirt AND help bassets at the same time! Enter the name or names as you want them to appear on the T-shirt.
The T-shirt sponsorship portion of our event has ended. Thank you for your support!
Just because we can’t get together in person this year doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy one of Bassetpalooza’s most fun traditions — raffle baskets! Tickets are $1 each, or you can get 6 for $5, 12 for $10, 18 for $15 or 25 for $20. Drawings will be held on October 31, 2020. Good luck!

While we will miss our tables full of fun raffle baskets this year, we can still have the fun and excitement of hoping our numbers will be called! For the month of September, we will be selling tickets for a daily, Yes, Daily!, raffle drawing which will take place through the month of October. A whole month of daily drawings — talk about fun!
How does it work? All raffle tickets sold through the month of September go into one bucket, and one daily winner is drawn using a randomized program (we’re working on a way to do a live feed of the drawings on the NEBHR Facebook page, but if you miss it, don’t worry, we’ll post winners here, too.). All tickets, including previous winning tickets, are then returned to the bucket each day, meaning that with ONE ticket, you could win multiple times! How exciting! So ONE Top Hat Ralph Raffle Ticket gives you 31 chances to win!!
The daily prizes include gift cards, fun basset themed items, NEBHR merchandise and cash!
Below is the calendar of prizes. Click on the calendar to see a bigger version. The prize for Oct. 31’s drawing is a secret for now, but Top Hat Ralph would like to hint to you that it’s a BIG one!
Tickets are $20 each and are available for purchase through September 30. No more tickets will be sold after September 30, so get yours now!
Ticket sales for the Top Hat Ralph Raffle are now closed.

While we can’t go around scratching hundreds of basset ears all in one day this year, we CAN have a ton of fun with basset games through video and photo contests! Dig out your basset’s best costume for the costume contest! Get out your measuring tape and camera and get ready to measure those ears for the longest ears contest! Locate your fanciest (or not) hand towel and get ready to record a video of your basset participating in a COVID Cover-up contest!
Here are some photos from last year’s Bassetpalooza. What a fantastic day!
