Bassetpalooza is a fun-filled day to help raise money for us to continue in our efforts to provide homeless bassets with medical care and other needs they may have in order to prepare them for finding their forever homes. It’s a day for all bassets, their human servants, and anyone looking to learn more about the breed or considering adopting a basset to come together to have some laughs, play some games, take part in the awesome raffles, and of course — love on some bassets!!

***The window for online raffle ticket sales has now closed. You can still purchase tickets Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Bassetpalooza!
The drawings will be held that day, along with the other raffle drawings.

We’re switching things up a bit this year in an effort to allow those people who love bassets but who can’t make it to Bassetpalooza to be able to still participate in some amazing raffles!  Raffle tickets for these individual items are $5 each and can be purchased from now up until October 17, 2019. Once you make a purchase of tickets, we will physically write your name on however many tickets you’ve purchased and put them in a container for whichever items you’re looking to win! The winning raffle tickets will still be drawn at Bassetpalooza, but if you have purchased tickets online and are not at the event, we will mail your item to you! How fun is that?!  We have some amazing items that have been donated by some of the greatest basset-loving folks, and not only that, but most of these items are handmade with love, too!

This beautiful lap-sized afghan was crocheted and donated by Darlene Guilmain. Darlene and her husband adopted a beautiful bonded pair of basset girls, Bella and Buttercup from NEBHR a few years ago, and Darlene has been donating her beautiful, creative and fun crocheted items to help benefit the rescue ever since!

The dimensions of the afghan are 29 x 39.5

Diana's HS Quilt

This absolutely gorgeous quilt also has a heart-tugging story. It was donated to NEBHR by Ellie Wright of Anacortes, WA, with the following note – “I received a wonderful gift from a friend so that I might carry on her wish to help Basset Hounds that she so dearly loved. My friend Diana Rothe was a beautiful, strong and compassionate woman who loved Basset Hounds, especially the seniors. She supported senior hounds in rescue. She was a big supporter of Debbie Dawgs, and now has a bed program in her honor. Diana and I were quilters and upon her death she told her husband she wanted her fabric to go to me so I could make donation quilts for one of a kind raffles for rescues who care for senior hounds.” NEBHR is honored to have received one of “Diana’s Heaven Sent Quilts.

Dimensions of this quilt are 54 x 56

This beautiful embroidered basset hound was handmade with love by a true friend to all pups in need, but especially bassets and beagles. Carolina Soto lives in Argentina. She spent the last few years working tirelessly to help her own beagles who suffered from seizure disorders. She now continues to honor her sweet pups Pruny and Tommy by creating beautiful embroidered pieces like this one in hopes of helping to raise money to help other dogs in need. Bassets have found a special place in her heart, and we are blessed that she has chosen to make and donate this beautiful basset for NEBHR.

The dimensions of this framed embroidery are 12 x 17.

This fun and adorable crewel pillow was donated to NEBHR by one of our long-time fosters and loyal supporter, Marcia Benson. Through the years, Marcia has provided loving care to many foster dogs, has generously stepped forward to cover medical bills for things like eye surgeries and dental work that various bassets have needed, she’s done home visits for us, just anything we’ve needed, Marcia has been there.

Dimensions of this pillow are 17 x 17

Stained Glass 2
This fun “Live, Laugh, Bark” stained glass painting was done by one of our fantastic foster moms, Melissa Mayes. Melissa and her husband Christian have fostered quite a few hounds for NEBHR over the past few years as well as doing numerous transports and home visits. The basset in this stained glass painting just oozes bassetude, a trait which Melissa and Christian love in their hounds.

Dimensions of the painted stained glass are 8 x 11.5

These baskets below are some of the raffle baskets that will be available at Bassetpalooza.  Sorry, we can’t ship these out, so no online ticket sales for these:
